Temp Control Part 1

Temp Control Part 1

As promised, this is our part one of the temp control discussion and tutorial. For those of you just catching up the previous article was a simple introduction to the idea of temp control. We are going to go into a little bit more detail on the act of controlling temperature in a vaporizer.

So the entire idea of controlling temperature has many supposed origins, but the point of the matter is, it is here to stay. When you control the temperature of a vape you are helping to reduce the risks of off-gassing wire and the ingredients you are vaping. Now this isn’t meant to stir up any scares about your juice or if you are reaching dangerous temperatures with your devices, this is only meant to be a blanket safety net for all of us to take advantage of. Temperature regulated devices have now been released by all the major players and a few new faces so be on the lookout for the next wave of temp control and its upgraded features.

On to the science. The temperature controlling features of DNA40 devices and sx350j devices have been described as “resistance-based” chip sets. The idea for resistance being used to measure the temperature of a wire is also wire we have started using things such as Ni200 and Ti wire. These substances being of a pure natural resistant material gives the device a set and stable starting resistance to measure from. As wire becomes hotter it becomes more resistant and therefore can be measured as a change in thermodynamic and electromagnetic properties. In layman’s terms, the wires resistance is said to be directly connected to the temperature of the wire. This is a very cool ability for chips to have because it can prevent dry hits and allows for certain flavors to be vaped at varying temperatures for maximum effect.

That concludes today’s installment. Stay tuned for more later in the weekend. Vape On and Vape Strong!
